My Blog SCRIBBLE AND EDIT reflects my love of creative writing, design, literature and film. Check out my Poems & haiku, Romantic Flash Fiction; Blogfest Entries; Blog Awards and other prose and Flash Fiction. Do bear with me, as I will reciprocate with those genuine commenters on my blog.  BTW I sometimes withhold comments for challenges until later. Comments about the post are much appreciated. Thank you.

The only SURE way for me to follow you back is if you leave a comment. However, if your Blog has a black background and white writing then it makes my eyes squiffy...

Romance / YA

My Romance Writing Journey and links to my romantic prose pieces:

In my youth I was forever imagining romantic scenarios.

I have learned that: Category romance is one big clich√© because they are all the same. HOWEVER, what makes one better than another is how the author
CREATES SCENES AND CHARACTERS THAT ARE MEMORABLE.

In the 1990's I submitted a manuscript to Mills and Boon, for which I actually received feedback rather than the standard rejection letter, which was encouraging. I'm afraid I did
not follow this up with my second MS as I had only written 3 chapters and life got in the way.

I started this blog in 2010. I love Literary Fiction and Realistic Fiction and Chick Lit; Children's & YA and I'm a sucker for well written Romance, but which should I write?

My current WIP is a chicklit, realistic fiction, suspence novel, laced with romance.

I began participating in Romantic Friday Writers Challenges, which honed my romantic writing skills for which I am delighted to say have been awarded the Featured Writer
          Badge for these entries:

has romantic elements.

Young Adult Literature

I have always enjoyed losing myself in a good story,
a concept that seems to epitomize Young Adult and Middle Grade Fiction.

Of course the fabulous Harry Potter series by J K Rowling spans these two age genres.

Other favourites are:
Frank Cotterill Boyce; Patrick Ness; Stephanie Meyer

Have you read John Lenahan's Shadowmagic?

Naturally my hope is to capture something of that magic and adventure in my own writing.
